Meet Dr Erkan Aktas

Dr Erkan Aktas is a former Gynaecologist and Obstetrician who practised in Turkey for many years before establishing Mermaid Health in the UK in 2021.
Alongside his medical career, he has built extensive experience in medical translation, writing and editing, including translating numerous books from English into Turkish.
Today, he combines his medical background and communication expertise to support patients exploring treatment options in Turkey, as well as healthcare professionals and organisations working across the UK and Turkey, through health tourism consultancy, treatment coordination, sonography consultancy and medical translation.
